Menstrie Glen And Lossburn Reservoir
Along Main Street past the Tolbooth, Market Cross and Stone of Mannan, then up High Street to the Tower, continuing via a core path down a grassy slope to a farm track. The return to the town centre is on quiet roads.
Path Information Distance: 4.3 miles (6.9km) Grade 3 (900ft) This walk is mostly on good paths and gives the opportunity of visiting Dumyat or exploring the hills north of Menstrie Glen
Menstrie Castle
Menstrie Castle was built c1560 as a manor house by the Alexander family. It was the birthplace of Sir William Alexander, who had an illustrious career during the reign of James VI and I, becoming Principal Secretary of State for Scotland in 1626.
